I grew up listening to my daddy talk about Audie Murphy. In this day and time, our kids need to know about Audie Murphy. He is a true American hero.

I have always admired Audie growing up. We learned about about him in school. They don't teach things like this today.

I met Audie, when he requested to meet a handicapped child. My son, Rick was chosen, as was Naomi Miller.
He and Susan Cabot came to the Cerebral Palsy clinic, and a photo shoot took place. When that was over, Susan and Audie, spent more time with Rick and Naomi, asking about what they thought they might grow up to be. I was also very much in awe of Audie. His interest was sincere in learning about Rick and Naomi's hopes and dreams.
When Audie died, Rick and I spent several days getting over it. To think he went to Hell and back, and dies in a plane crash. May he rest in peace. I feel honored to have spent an afternoon with him. Rest in Prace, dear one, as you have earned it. Arlene Starke

A true Hero of a lasting generation of remarkable people representing our beautiful country. Often times a Hero is misinterpreted as a person who does an act of modern day publicity, politics, or fiction. It is important that America's stories of true hereoism are taught to the new generation's to come.

I feel honoured signing the guestbook of a man I only knew as a film star and fell madly in love with as a young girl, I was just fourteen when Audie Murphy died only then did I learn about his years in the army and of his Heroism. Today I've read his full accomplishments, and agree; his memory should be kept alive. RIP

Thank you for keeping the truth and legend alive. We honor him through boards, but as you stated, it gets weaker through out each generation.

I know Audie's history. I have the Life magazine issue dedicated to him, and periodically go through it, just to remember. A true American Hero.

I am a retired First Sergeant from the US Army. I was stationed in Germany for 15 years between 1960 and 1975. I was in the headquarters of which the 3rd Infantry came under. I am very familiar with Audie's old unit. Audie is one of my biggest heros along with General Patton.
