I feel honoured signing the guestbook of a man I only knew as a film star and fell madly in love with as a young girl, I was just fourteen when Audie Murphy died only then did I learn about his years in the army and of his Heroism. Today I've read his full accomplishments, and agree; his memory should be kept alive. RIP

Thank you for keeping the truth and legend alive. We honor him through boards, but as you stated, it gets weaker through out each generation.

I know Audie's history. I have the Life magazine issue dedicated to him, and periodically go through it, just to remember. A true American Hero.

I am a retired First Sergeant from the US Army. I was stationed in Germany for 15 years between 1960 and 1975. I was in the headquarters of which the 3rd Infantry came under. I am very familiar with Audie's old unit. Audie is one of my biggest heros along with General Patton.

Audie Murphy was a true hero. His exploits in WWII showed him to be that. It was believable to watch his heroic actions in the movies. Though they were movies, you knew if it has been true action, he would have performed in the manner he did. He was, and continues to be, one of my favorite actors. The sadness of his early death still lingers. He deserves every honor this country can bestow upon him in a time when there seems to be more dishonor than honor.
