born 1940, loved Audie as movie star. Must have come in late on TO HELL AND BACK, as i did not even know about his military service until his death. I was absolutely shocked. I made a special visit to the military museum that had his 2nd Lt uniform, along with many other famous generals. He has been on the top of my list ever since his death. Have heard alot of conflicting info on his actual exploits. Hope this is a good site. thanks. 1st Lt JDP 1966-1972 USAF Navigator.

I have allways enjoyed learning of heros in Americas past. Audie is one of my favorites, another is Alvin York from WW1. I was not able to serve in the armed forces because of my medical history, but I allways try to honor the sacrifice men like these made.

You are a hero and a good actor. I don't think there was ever another person who defended our country like you did. You went beyond the call of duty. My heart and prayers go out to all our soldiers that defends our great country. May they return home safe. RIP Audie
