Inspired by Audie Murphy, I enlisted in the army in 1963 at the age of 17. I was wounded in Vietnam July 1965. Audie Murphy was my all time greatest hero. I often think of him and I watch his movies over and over. There will never be a hero with the stature of Audie Murphy. Rest in Peace Audie. Added: August 26, 2011

we have hero's in Canada to, but this guy only knew one way, strait ahead, don't give an inch, i could sit here and write about him all day,but it's all been said,i watch to hell and back i don't know how many time's, but when think about what he done, you see only a bit of what he realy did,to make a movie of his life story,it would be a long movie, what an unsung hero,it was like pulling a tooth, to get him to talk about himself, and done it all before he was 20 yr's. old. I know more about him than American's do and that's a shame there should be a Shrine of him, where everbody could admire what he was about, because you'll never see another hero like him. he'll alway's be the biggest hero in my life, i just wish i could have meet him, what an honor that would have been. So Audie you know you'll alway's have a fan in Canada.REST IN PEACE. YOU'LL BE THE FIRST SPIRIT I LOOK UP WHEN I GET THERE.
