I wish with all of my being that every generation would realize that all of their rights and priveleges were guaranteed by the Constitution and that those rights and priveleges were protected by the greatest generation.Great men like Mr. Audie Murphy and many others paid the price to insure our freedom from fascism and genocide at the hands of the Germans and Japanese.Many thanks to all of you who served and are now serving. I grew up watching Audie Murphy in the movies and especially enjoyed To Hell And Back. I read the book as well in grade school and always held his courage and humility in high esteem. I retired from the Navy so I understand the bond that exists between men whose lives often depend upon their comrades. The book, the movie, and his life eloquently reflect this. I remember watching his movies with my Dad & he used to tell me about his Heroism. He is a Man to strive to be like. I'm 55 and tell the kids and Grandkids about him and what he stood for. We should all strive to be like him. Added: September 22, 2011

America needs more people like Audie Murphy. A true hero in every sence of the word. He did what he needed , not to be a hero but, to defend the country he loved. He will never be forgotten not only as a American war hero but as an American actor. This generation needs to take a good look at what American Heros were in the past and cherish thier dedication to this country.
