I am also in the Army and came across this site. Mr. Audy Murphey was a real life hero and is still remembered well throughout the Army and always will be. I have spoken to my children about some of the brave acts he performed and how he incorporated the best attributes that made our country and military the best in the world.

audie murphy was my childhood hero not a myth a truly brave man during my 2 years in iraq we had in the restaurant the audie murphy room where many times i used to sit and think of this remarkable true life hero and we should always keep his memory alive

My grandpa is a big fan of westerns so I grew up watching them. I know all the greats but my favorite was always Audie Murphy. Anytime a western with him in it came on I had to watch it even if I had seen it a thousand times. I am now in college and have to do a thesis paper on a figure in history who is not well known and I picked Mr.Murphy, he did so much for our county and yet not a lot of people know who he is.
