All of my uncles served in various branches of the armed services so I believe that all service members should be honored. God bless all who serve our country.

I saw the movie and was amazed at the valour that Audie displayed during his tour.

He had more courage than I could have shown. God bless him and all the other men who gave their lives protecting their comrades.

What can you say about Audie Murphy?

He was just a kid, I believe 17-19 yrs old, when he proved to be one of braviest men America had to offer.

Audie was a very important part of my childhood. I saw his many movies at the Fox Theater Saturday afternoons. My mother told me about his war record and when TO HELL AND BACK was released, I was amazed. I wrote him a letter and he answered! Not just a form letter, but a personal letter. Through the years of my childhood, I wrote him many letters and he answered every one. When his plane went down, it was like loosing a family member. He was very special to me.

I noticed that your list of subsets at the top of this page did not include honorary memberships in various organizations. I am sure that the number is astronomical, but I did want to mention that I ran across the paperwork initiating him into the Fort Hays State University (then Fort Hays Kansas State College) Veterans Club, a campus organization that I presided over. He had been initiated into the Vet's Club long before I was there, but the paperwork was in the archives. I wanted to be sure that you had a notation on this.
