I have found this to be a wonderful website with all the information you could want to get started on Audie L. Murphy. I am doing a program on his birthday 6/20/2011 for my library. I have found so much right here. I think the USA should always remember Audie for the lesson he taught on patriotism. Thank you for not letting him slip into obscurity.

I can't believe Audie's been gone from us 40 years. My heart was broken when he died and it still is. Such a wonderful and beautiful young man. No one can replace him in my heart. I have all his films and what a consolation it is to be able to see him alive and fascinating in all his ways. I pray for him always and remember him every day. God rest your heroic, selfless soul, dearest Audie.

My Dad fought in WWII. We watched many of Mr. Murphy's movies. My father was always amazed at Mr. Murphy's service medals and said God had to have been watching over him or he would not have made it home!

I became aware of Audie Murphy through my love of watching westerns.

I was impresssed by his honesty and decency which came through in movie after movie. He was unlike a typical hollywood movie star, he was the "decent man" next door, not big in stature but solid and reliable.

Along with Randolph Scott and John Wayn, Audie Murphy was my favourite cowboy to watch.
