This website is so very important, especially as a teaching tool to continue validating Audie Murphy's legacy and contributions to our American Freedom and values.

I have never heard of this fellow before and am well-read on WW2 data; particularly Europe.

My father served in the Army/Pacific and his brother (my uncle) served in the Army Engineers (42nd??) in Europe building bridges, etc.

I am looking forward to reading more about Audie M.; I only searched him out because I heard him mentioned on the radio program from Mike MacIntosh, Chapter & Verse, San Diego, CA this week.

Yes, we need to know more heroes like him!

I was born in 1945 and as a teenager I remember a large poster of Audie (in uniform) in a store on mainstreet of my home town of St.Pauls, NC. Each time I passed by I would stop and stare at his picture. To me he was the handsomest man I had ever seen and I had a huge crush on him. Sorry his life was so short.

I'm sitting here watching one of his movies "Ride Clear Of Diablo" made in 1954. I've always enjoyed his movies and knew of his accomplishments during WWll but not a lot about his later life and tradgic death, this site answers a few of those questions.

After having a discussion about WW2. My son asked me who the greatest war hero was. His classmates had talked about Patton and MacArthur. I told him the only one that I could think of was Audie Murphy. My son said that he had never heard the name. The next day my sons class discussed it again and he was the only one to mention Audie. Even the history teacher had not heard of his accomplishments. That is a real shame! But after the discussion they all knew about Audie and how great of a man he was.
Thank you Mr. Murphy. And thank you for creating this website. Hopefully Mr. Murphy will never be forgotten.
