I grew up always knowing the name Audie Murphy and the story of his heroism. I've seen all his movies and will pick one of his movies over any other. He will always be a True American Hero!

I was 17 years old when Audie Murphy died. I had never read any accounts of Audie's Military
Service and his Gallantry. He was largely known to me only as a Movie Star and personality.
Reading his service and awards records complete the picture of a very special Man. The Nation owes him it's love and gratitude not only for his heroism but for being the genuine Man he appeared to be later in life.
May the succeeding generations never forget this special Man.

I did not here of Audie Murphy until I was deployed to Iraq in 2009. I feel that the military is letting great soldiers such as this to by forgotten. :D
