As a army veteran, I again watched Audie Murphy's movie today for the 6th time. Throughout the movie we constantly saw Audie send troops away from imminent danger while he stayed to fight the enemy. I Googled Audie Murphy and was surprised to see that, when he received his medals he was only 19 1/2 years old.Just a boy - but what a soldier.

I have admired Audie L. Murphy since I was a kid. He was everything I attributed to being an American Hero; both as a Service man and a film star. I had the honor of serving in the USAF during the Viet Nam Conflict. I would like to think that I served in the memory of such individuals as Audie Murphy with honor and humility. I have attempted to pass on the respect and honor carried by the legacy of all of those serving in the Armed Services to my son. :!inlove
