Audie was my mother's first cousin on her mother's side. I am always interested in anything I find about Audie and his family.

Audie Murphy was an amazing individual. I wish he could of had the medical help there is today for ptsd. It is very ironic, that after surviving so many encounters during the war he dies in a plane crash. I am 58 years old and Audie Murphy was my hero when I was a growing up and he will always be a very, very special person to me. I doubt if there will ever be another person with the intestinal fortitude and raw courage that he exhibited so many times. May he rest in peace.

We have just got back from Washington D.. and New York after a wonderful holiday. I made a point of visiting Audie Murphy's grave just opposite the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and was so impressed with this beautiful setting that is Arlington. I have always been an avid fan of Audie Murphy and Lee Marvin so this visit was an important part of my vacation. Murphy was an American real life hero and such an important person in World War 11 and I believe this additional honor is long overdue,

I am studying to go to the Audie Murphy board for the second time. I didn't want to but the more I read the more I knew that despite everything that happened after Audie got our of the Army, he was still a humble man and a courageous Soldier. I admire him.

I recently saw my first AM flick, "The Texican", and was reminded of an old memory from my senior year in HS (1979) when during our class reading of "All Quiet on the Western Front"; my English teacher embarrassed me by announcing to everyone that there was a student in the class who is the splitting image of a "very handsome war hero and movie star that we wouldn't know, then he pointed at me and said. "you Mr. O'Brien, look exactly like an old time movie star named Audie Murphy!". I turned bright red, but ever after, the girls started to take notice! Thank you, Audie!

I don't know how many times I have sen the movie about him, which I am watching as I am writing this.

I come from a family of military me, and I served in the Navy for six years, and Army for three and a half.

I am awed by this military career, and I thank God we had men like him to defend our country, and those overseas.

I honor this man who gave so much for his country, and in spite of ptsd issues, desired to be a role model for our younger generation. He is still remembered by those who love him.
