I still watch Audie's movies, and he is 50 years older than I am, but as a kid I remember my parents especially my father who was also in WW2 watch his movies. He was a great actor too, it came so natural to him. When he did war movies or westerns or movies like Battle at Bloody Beach where he wasn't a soldier but fought for the rights of others, it looked like it came so natural for him to be a fighter of right and wrong, of helping others and not thinking about himself. I"m so glad that this site was developed so no one forgets. That as time goes by people of tomorrow we continue to seek and learn about hero's who helped and fought for the freedom that they have. Because of men like Audie Murphy and others like him. But not exactly like him since he is the only one who received every honor an American soldier can receive while fighting fearlessly for their country and the people in it. Rest in Peace Audie, you will never be forgotten but remembered and appreciated for what you did as a soldier and as a person. Lia Added: October 18, 2016

I was at Arlington on Oct.12,2016 as a Veteran on Honor Flight. The guide on the bus mentioned the location of Audies grave which is very close to the Tomb of the Unknown. I was humbled to be able to get a photo of his grave site and pay my respects to a true American hero. Added: October 15, 2016 Powered by PHP Guestbook - brought to you by PHP Scripts

I have been a U.S. History teacher for the past 27 years and I do remember how sad my mother was when Audie died in 1971 (when I was 8). Two summers ago I got to go to Arlington National Cemetery with my brother Tom, and I was able to take a picture on my iPhone of Audie Murphy's grave. I intend to keep the memory of this amazing WWII hero alive for future generations of my students.
