Dear People,
It is so nice that there is a website/memorial to this man. It is so true, that the younger generation doesn't have, or even look for, any heroes. I think the spirit of heroism is seriously lacking, now, in a country with so much "correctness" and regulation of all our activities. The freedom to do what you think is right, hence be a hero, is "corrected" out of out youth. :!muscle: javascript:void(0)

I was in the army for 20 years, and I would do it again. Audie was one reason why i did it, look up to him, and still do. we are both from Texas, ijoin the army Aug 9th 1977, and I think that was a big day for him, not 1977 but aug 9th. I alswas watch his movie To Hell and Back. iam still all army to day. I also Have a uncle that was in the army, a brother in the navy, one in the army. Paula Valenzuela/Dayble.

There are fresh flowers, including the yellow rose of Texas, and American flags on Audie Murphy's gravesite today at Arlington Cemetery. People were stopping by to pay their respects and a wonderful volunteer answered any questions people had about Audie Murphy. He is not forgotten. Thank you for this excellent web site and for keeping his memory alive. He and his family are in my prayers today.

Audie, by noon today your grave was covered with yellow roses, a wreath and other flowers as well as over a dozen flags. In two hours I saw hundreds of people pay their respects, including one young fan from Belfast, Ireland. You are not forgotten, Audie, and I doubt very much that you ever will be.

Miss you and Love you.

Audie was about 9 yrs older than me.I knew of him because of the war. I adored him. I had kept up with his career after the war. I was crushed when he died.I thought he was coming into his own dealing with the war and its aftermath. I think he would have become an even better actor. I too hope he will not be forgotten. There has not been any one to even come close to his awesome record. Thanks for your work.
