One of America's greatest heros, we must continue to honor him in this country from one generation to the next. If this country forgets Audie Murphy, we have forgotten our heritage.

I worked at University Hospital in San Antonio Texas which is across the street from the Audie Murphy Veterans Hospital. I always thought of him and the sacrifice he made for his country. I still watch his movies. Thank you putting this memorial online.

I fall in love with Audie as a young girl, watching all his movies.
When I learned he was a decorated war hero I was not surprise.
I mourned his death also, he was missed by millions of people I am sure. :)

I have been a fan of Audie Murphy since I can remember (I am 63 yrs. old) I remember a a young man watching his movies with a keen interest. I became especially intrigued when I discovered that he was a Freemason and Brother. I have served as Worshipful Master of my lodge in Pennsylvania on three occasions and I have presented numerous speeches to various Masonic groups about Brother Murphy. Most have been presented for a Veteran's Day related meeting. I am currently (10/2011) preparing a paper for submission to a Masonic organization which I will orally deliver to the group and then present the paper for possible publication at a later time. Suffice it to say that great is my admiration for this American icon and Mason!
