My husband, Steve and I admired Audie. Steve's Dad served in the army during world war 11. His Dad suffered from PTSD and my Dad that served in the Navy and was there at the age of 19 when Pearl Harbor was bombed served the attack and lived to tell me about it. It is sad that Audie's Dad left their family when he was growing up and that his Mom died at such an early age and that Audie also died so young! I wish the world could figure out how to get a long so that there would not be so many women, children and men that lose their lives because of war! Did Audie ever see his Dad after he left his wife and 12 children? Sincerely, June Added: October 13, 2011

My dad was drafted into the Army when he was a freshman at Syracuse University, majoring inn journalism. He was in Patton's Third Army and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy. I'll never forget his stories about the War and Audie Murphy. When he passed away, we found a diary that we never knew existed. I'm a history teacher and every year I tell my students about my dad's experiences fighting to preserve our freedom and about Audie Murphy. ' Most kids' heroes these days are basketball, baseball and football stars or rock stars. They take our freedom for granted and don't know about the brave heroes who fought to make a better life for future generations. Audie Murphy's story should be part of every U.S history curriculum. God bless America! Added: October 9, 2011 Powered by PHP Guestbook - brought to you by PHP Scripts

We need to remember the soldiers of this country that went away and put their life on the line for our freedom and way of life. I can never say thank you enough. I am a veteran also and have even more respect for the soldiers that preceded me.
Thank you.
