During my "once in a lifetime" trip to Arlington Cemetary I made a point of visiting Audie's grave with my Grandson. I wanted to show him a REAL HERO.

Wow, what a life. What a soldier! I've heard family members talk about Audie, and I decided to find out more about him. Impressed isn't the word. Maybe "awed" is. Rest in peace.

Served in the 82nd Airborne Division, 1962-1965, was a great fan of Audies westerns when I was a kid. I have read his book, to hell and back and saw the movie, that he did what he did at his age is remarkable

As a child, I loved watching Audie Murphy, as an actor. I only knew a little about his military background. Reading about the guard of the unknown soldier lead me to this site. I'm grateful for the site and will make sure my descendants will keep Audie Murphy's memory alive.
God Bless you, our true hero!

I had one of the Murphy's from Oklahoma call me and tell me Audie was a cousin of my dad. My dad was Andrew Jackson Wright from Oklahoma. In my grand father obit 1941 Audie Murphy is named as one of the pall bearers.
