Comment:
I just got back from a WWII tour of Italy, and shared the trip with a member whose relative fought with Audie Murphy (and unfortunately died in combat). Once you see the terrain in which these men had to fight, you can begin to appreciate the sacrifices they made. There are so many accounts of bravery it is a shame more medals could not have been awarded. Added: June 26, 2013

As a teen-aged boy I worshiped Audie Murphy, especially since "To Hell and Back" was always the second feature at the local dime cinema that we visited every Wednesday. I was lucky enough to make his acquaintance when I worked as a stable hand at Hollywood Park in '64 and took every opportunity to be around him. I enjoyed the pictures and would like to suggest that someone here on this website could contact Betfair-Hollywood Park, which is in its last season of racing. There is surely a trove of photographs of Audie in their gallery. I would love to see more additions here. Added: June 24, 2013 Powered by PHP Guestbook - brought to you by PHP Scripts
