Helping a memory to live on! My Grandfather served in the Navy during WWII and spoke of his experiences and losing his younger brother, my Great Uncle who is buried in Holland. Granddad passed at the age of 90 and was very proud of his military service. It is our responsibility to make sure our youth know and don't forget the sacrifices made. Added: August 6, 2013

I Hear, I See, I Wonder © r.meuser 12/30/06 As I stand before the military graves of our fallen heroes: I can hear, The bugler’s tribute echo across a field of white stone markers aligned in a straight lined formation. Seven riflemen fire in respect of the deceased. I can see, The flag for which they fought folded and presented to a loved one. No greater gift can a man give to his nation but his life for freedom’s cause. I wonder, How many more times must our flag drape a coffin – rifles fire in honor – and taps mournfully play? I just watched the movie, "tTo He'll And Back". I haven't forgotten him, and never will. I had 4 uncles in that war, and am thankful for men like them, for our freedom. I never miss thanking a service man or woman for serving. Thanks for this memorial. I Added: August 5, 2013

Audie Murphy is a childhood hero of mine. I am a history buff.....and read a lot on him as a teen-ager. I also remember seeing him as a movie star. Murphy is also a great-grandmothers' maiden name.....so I like to think that I may be a distant cousin to Audie! Added: August 4, 2013

I brings me hope that there are still people trying to keep the memories of the past alive so that future generations can come to know great men like Audie Murphy.
