Comment:
I know little of Audie Murphys life except he was one of those rare people who just kept on plugging away 'till the job was done and was no vein man either with his magnanimous sharing with his unit of credit for his greatest wartime achievements so as well as being a highly efficient soldier he was a really good guy too by the sounds of things, the U.S people must preserve this heroes memory forever.

I have loved Mr. Murphy since I was a little girl and first saw him in to the movie To Hell and Back. It is too bad we don't have more like him anymore.

When someone learns to accept responsibility for themselves and for others, that trait carries over into all area of their lives. Audie is a great example of this. He understood duty, be it at home or on the battlefield. It is tragic that our nation has drifted so far away from such basic values and that now so many will not even accept responsibility for themselves, wanting--even expecting--others to provide for all their needs. We so badly need more Audie Murphy's today. Just so wonderful that we had the one when we did, and had him when we needed him. Rest In Peace, Audie!

Born in 1943, my friends and I grew up well aware of Audie Murphy. Saw his movies, read and talked about him a lot. In our eyes he was a real hero and great role model.
