Comment:
When someone learns to accept responsibility for themselves and for others, that trait carries over into all area of their lives. Audie is a great example of this. He understood duty, be it at home or on the battlefield. It is tragic that our nation has drifted so far away from such basic values and that now so many will not even accept responsibility for themselves, wanting--even expecting--others to provide for all their needs. We so badly need more Audie Murphy's today. Just so wonderful that we had the one when we did, and had him when we needed him. Rest In Peace, Audie! Added: September 5, 2013

I enjoyed Audie's movies emensely when I was young and was extremely saddened by his death in 1971. I was just 17, but held him in high regard as an actor. He was one of my favorites along with James Stewart, Gary Cooper and John Wayne. His memory should be Honoured and remembered for his greatest contribution, his fight for World Peace in World War II. I have loved Audie Murphy since 1970. He was an amazing man and a hero that will live on forevere. I read his book "To Hell and Back" and saw the movie also. He suffered from depression because of the war. He had a very hard life as a boy and took care of his younger siblings as best as he could. When he died a part of me died too. I have loved Mr. Murphy since I was a little girl and first saw him in to the movie To Hell and Back. It is too bad we don't have more like him anymore.
