Besides my father, who also is a WWII veteran, I have no greater hero. Thank you Audie.

I am a 75 year old grandmother who has been a life long Audie Murphy fan. As a young girl I was in love with Audie Murphy the actor. He was always my favorite actor as I grew up. My husband always knew about my crush on Audie Murphy. I did not know about his Heroism. However it was my husband that knew about his bravery, and how he earned his medals. .
I am printing this article for my grandson who is in the National Guard. He joined the U. S. Army while still in High School. He did tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Haiti. He came home and married his childhood sweetheart, and then joined the National Guard.

I woke up this morning thinking about Audie Murphy and was compelled to look him up on my computer. I knew that he was the most decorated soldier in WW II, but was completely in awe of all that he did in the war.

God Bless you. God bless America!
