My dad also was in the Army in WW2, and as youngster I had heard some of the awesome stories about Audie Murphy.

As it turned out, I ended up going to North Hollywood High School with one of his sons, Terry. He was always very quiet, kept to himself, and seemed to be introverted. I always thought that it must be a heavy cross to bear, being the son of the most decorated war hero in American history.

We graduated in 1970 and was sad to hear that the very next year in 1971 is when Audie had that crash.

We all know about the movie star stuff, but what a real honest to goodness war hero he was. Nobody will ever come close to doing what he did in a war. What an unbelievable soldier !!

I have most of Audie Murphy's movies. All but the first
four. My wife and I are always on the look for them, but
so far no luck. I was first inspired by him in " To Hell
and Back" when it came out in 1955. To my wife and I he was as great an actor as he was a military man.
We rank him very high as an overall movie star.

This man's name should be a honored by all Americans young and old. I am honored to have studied his history and think his name should be honored by all people for his bravery in battle and for the many lives he saved on the Battlefield.
