I always admired Audie Murphy, even as a child, the hero, who came across as polite, unassuming and gentle

My Dad took me to see "To Hell and Back" circa 1955 for me was one of those "riveting" movies, as I graduated from college and went into US Navy pilot training guess you could say "military' events did arouse my interests. All I do have to really say---------- AUDIE MURPHY AND MEN LIKE HIM ARE NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN!!!
( yes was a Navy pilot in the Vietnam theater)

My Father , Patrick Scott Murphy gave his life at the age of 23 in WW11, I have always liked and respected Audie Murphy, he always looked so young , but you only have to look in to his eyes to realise what horrors he had seen , and sadly it is still going on , inthe words of the old song , When will they ever learn.

Great actor in my opinion. Love him in westerns and of course in To Hell and Back! Great acting style. Too bad he was not properly appreciated in film.

I've admired Mr. Murphy, for as long as I can remember. Like many Americans, our family lost members during many of our wars. The ones that survived the wars, were changed forever. My Grandfather served on the most decorated ship of WWII, the Franklin CV-13 (aka: Big Ben). He survived the Japanese attacks, but was haunted by what he'd been through. I will never forget the sacrifices Mr. Murphy made for us all. I'm sure he will be remembered, just as Sgt. York is, from WWI. Mr. Murphy is a true American Hero.
