I grew up when many of Sgt. Murphy's films, especially "To Hell and Back", and considered him one of my heroes. Because of Sgt. Murphy and my uncle a MIA, who was found 56 years after his death, still strapped in the cockpit of his P-51, I became a soldier. He was the soldiers, soldier. Added: May 13, 2016

I saw his movie, To Hell and Back, as a young child. I was completely enthralled by what he did. I looked up to him as a true American Hero in every sense of the word. I work for the Dept of Veterans Affairs and I see what PTSD does to our returning heroes. I truly wish he could have received the help he needed, but again, he thought of others by campaigning to have the Government recognize and treat our soldiers who need help. May God grant him peace. As the son of a WWII Navy Seabee veteran, I just want to say that Audie Murphy ranks up there with my heroes. Love his movies, especially the onrs with Dan Duryea. I find a little pride in the fact that the most decorated veterans on both WWI and WWII were southernets.,I am glad to have found this site dedicatex to Audie. He's up there with John Wayne, as a man's man. Long live his memory. Added: May 5, 2016 Powered by PHP Guestbook - brought to you by PHP Scripts

Great American, enjoyed his films. Only recently became aware of his military contribution. Thanks for keeping his memory alive.
