My father, a vet of WWII made me aware of Audie Murphy's
great accomplishments when I was 10 years old.
That was 60 years ago and Audie is still my hero for life.

I am reading Audie's WW2 book "To Hell and Back" the most up close & personal combat fighting per Tom Brokow.

Audie would go alone on patrols leaving his men behind to save their lives. He was not in it for the valor.
