I recently saw my first AM flick, "The Texican", and was reminded of an old memory from my senior year in HS (1979) when during our class reading of "All Quiet on the Western Front"; my English teacher embarrassed me by announcing to everyone that there was a student in the class who is the splitting image of a "very handsome war hero and movie star that we wouldn't know, then he pointed at me and said. "you Mr. O'Brien, look exactly like an old time movie star named Audie Murphy!". I turned bright red, but ever after, the girls started to take notice! Thank you, Audie! Added: September 4, 2016

I don't know how many times I have sen the movie about him,which I am watching as I am writing this. I come from a family of military me, and I served in the Navy for six years, and Army for three and a half. I am awed by this military career, and I thank God we had men like him to defend our country, and those overseas. Added: September 2, 2016

I am studying to go to the Audie Murphy board for the second time. I didn't want to but the more I read the more I knew that despite everything that happened after Audie got our of the Army, he was still a humble man and a courageous Soldier. I admire him.
