Just looked him up tonight. Watching a western 40 Guns to Apache Pass. Wanted to know more since I didn't know anything about him. I think he is a superb actor. RIP Audie.

I was assigned to the 3rd. Infantry Division attached to the 2nd. Battalion 41st. Field Artillery in West Germany August 1971.
I've always referred to the 3rd. ID as the Audie Murphy Division.

i am a big/huge fan of Mr. Audie Murphy. i repeatedly watch all of his movies. saturdays are my western days. my hat will always be taken off to the great war hero especially due to i am a war veteran myself. i wish they would have given Mr. Murphy the recognition he so deserved. It is ashame; the good ones always get looked over!!! Rest in Love Cowboy!!
