I use to watch all his movies growing up as a kid. He was my true american hero. Because of him I wanted to go into the military. I enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1968. I retired from the Air Force after 26 years. Since,I am near Arlington I want visit his gave site. I have him to thank for my military career and serving my country proudly.

I was born and raised in Southern California and I would hear and read a lot about Audie Murphy. My father served in the Navy during WWII and thought very highly of him. To think that someone that young (16) would have the dedication and bravery to service his country is amazing. A few years ago my husband and I were able to go to Arlington and visit his grave. I bless the man he was. And I bless all the young men and women who are serving their country with the same dedication and bravery today.

Tragic ending for such a gallant man. Enjoyed reading his autobiography and enjoyed ALL the films of his all too short career.

I use to watch his movies never knowing about his military career. I have become very interested in finding out more about him since my daughter went to DC on her High School Junior Trip. I asked her to take a picture of his grave at Arlington. Since then I have been reading everything I can about this true American Hero. It is a shame that we were not taught about him in school.

As a Army vet, and also from Texas I heard of Audie Murphy growing up in the 50s and 60s. And I'm proud that he also is a Texan.

As a young child, I saw the movie about Billy the Kid with Audie being the Kid. It started my interest in him and To Hell & Back made it even more. He went through many military actions which I cannot comprehend in its violence but understand the reason for it. He was a hero to me and will always be that. All WWII veterans are my heroes.

Ten year military veteran. My deepest respects to a man who proved that size doesn't matter.
