Audie was a great American and a real Hero. I have read his autobiography To Hell and Back and seen all of his movies. Most of my uncles served their country during WW2 and were my hero's as a little boy growing up in Boston. Their generation was truly one of the greatest next to those who fought to free us from England during the revolutionary war.

I find it very disturbing to see that modern history has so distorted what made this country the greatest nation that the world has ever known. To find out that my granddaughter could not tell me who John Paul Jones was in her study of the revolutionary war speaks volumes. No wonder kids today have little or no knowledge of our great American hero's like Audie Murphy. This shows us just how much the PC police and liberals have distorted and watered down our history and the truth about how this great country was founded and why we have the freedom that we enjoy today.

What an amazing guy. What a better world it would be if more people saw Audie as a role model of faith, courage and ability to rise to be the best we can be.

Hello.....in around 1957 or maybe 58...I saw an Audie Murphy western that had a song with the lyrics...Follow the river, the river knows the way..follow the river back to me....I fell in love with Audie in that movie and I cannot remember the name of it, just those lyrics from the movie score....is there anyone out there that knows what movie that was? Thank you for any info you can give.

My Grandpa knew Audie Murphy when he was a sharecropper in Greenville, he talked to Audie before they left to go sign up for the war, my Grandpa lied about his age and got away with it though!
good to see this website.

This is an awesome website, and I was awed when I saw Mr. Murphy's grave in Arlington Cemetery several years ago.
