I do not know if you will again include comments I make on behalf of Audie Murphy but I have again contacted Encore Westerns and May 5th they are showing Ride A Crooked Trail which is one of my all time favorites - I have asked them to include some of his earlier films i.e. Kid form Texas Kansas Raiders and the like - it is a great channel and I feel it is a way of keeping his name alive and perhaps if some YOUNG PEOPLE watch ENCORE they would watch him and want to know more about him - what a story what a life and what a shame he is gone - but again not forgotten by the military and/or his fans -now Hollywood that's another story - they should do a movie on this man. I have five favorite actors I really enjoy watching,The Lone Ranger(Clayton Moore)Glen Ford,James Stewart,James Arness, and Audie Murphy.Audie Murphy and Glen Ford are tied as my very favorites.I grew up during the television boom and The Lone Ranger as my hero,As I watched TV during the 60's Gunsmoke and seeing Audie Murphy movies were my favorites.I lost track during the middle to late 60's because I was in the military.I ended up making a caree in the Army.My very favorite movies are Destry, and 7 Ways From Sundown.I truly enjoy the Westerns Channel because I get to see some movies of Audie I haven't seen before. I made a class trip with my son's school to Washington, DC and Arlington National Cemetery. I asked the guide if Audie Murphy's grave was at Arlington. She stated that it was, but noted that Audie Murphy requested no specal treatment for his grave. He wanted to be buried as a regular soldier. She took us to the grave, which was close to the tomb of the unknown soldier. Major Murphy's wishes were met, but the grave was in a prominent location, near a tree as I recall, for patriotic visitors to see. There were some flowers and flags on the grave still. Very touching. God bless you Major Murphy. Much thanks! Added: April 23, 2012

There is a real need for Americans to remember , with frequent reminder, what these fellow countrymen went through, the price many paid to defend this country from tyrany through World War 11. What a tragedy it is to see what is currently happening within our Nation to change it from the greatest freedom nation ever to one of more government control of our lives . It is the time for a civilian army of defenders to thwart the efforts to erode the accomplishment of the brave armed services men and women who put life and limb on the line to save and preserve this great United States of America as it was founded. This fight is at the ballot box. We must honor our heritage and do our part, now. Added: April 23, 2012 Powered by PHP Guestbook - brought to you by PHP Scripts
