I have written before but wondered if anyone has heard anymore about Dave Phillips petition for the presidential medal of freedom for Audie - I cannot understand why the presidents - bush - both of them can't do something about this - sr bush was at Arlington when he was buried - and am hoping in 2012 the tx. Legislature will give him their medal of freedom came in second in 2011 - it's true the heroes today are not soldiers but athletes how sad. Encore westerns has of late been showing a lot of his great westerns have written to them hoping they would continue - again such a tremendous person with a tragic childhood etc he even said he never felt young - he gave his all for fmfamily country and comrades - with that baby face sure he is with his mom and the angels -thank you for this site

I am a History teacher in an inner city school. I become upset when students don't want to learn about the heritage of America. Some of are heritage is bad and unfortunate. I would like to correct some. I cnnot but I can help by improving the future.

Im so glad to see this website. Audie was my favorite
cowboy as a kid. I didn't know then who he really was and what he did. Our granddaughter is a teacher. We were surprised she didn't know what an important American he was. We encouraged her to tell her students about him. We still watch his movies. Several have been on today. We are watching one now. I bought his book and read it many years ago. Thanks for keeping his memory alive!

This was one Hell of a Feirce warrior. It just goes to show that a little Man, with a Warriors Heart, can do for The United States Army. I knew another not so tall warrior, His Name was Red Eagle(Earl Dee Hood. He had the heart that Audie Murphy, had. My hat is off to all of our warriors, that have served I served in the National Guard for two years I was ready if needed. Again Thank a Vet, every time you get a chance. This has kept this Great Nation, Free.
