I always liked his movies especially the mitary ones. A great military hero and actor. I did not know that he died 3 days after my 18th birthday. I will always remember him.

For a young man of little education he showed what a true hero he was. We only know of him through the movie of his war exploits but thats more than enough to show that he would have made a excellent leader in the forces if it had been possible. A truly great loss to his fellow Americans.

A true American hero, Audie Murphy is forgotten by most young folks. As the veterans of WWII die off their heroic defeat of fascism passes from living memory to history and is lost. Like Alvin York from WWI, another great American hero, soon he will be all but completely forgotten by all but a few.
