I watched his movies when I was a kid and we visited his gravesite in Arlington National Cemetery a few years ago. I've always been interested and a little bit curious about him, so I finally decided to find out what I could.

Even tho my father served his country for over 20 years it was in the Navy, tho I hold no distinction. Any man in any branch of the military as soon as they sign on the dotted line, they are all heroes in my book.

I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED AUDIE MURPHY. HE ALWAYS STOOD FOR GOOD IN HIS MOVIES AS WELL AS HIS LIFE. WE WERE FORTUNATE TO HAVE A PERSON LIKE HIM IN THE USA. WE SHOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR HIS DEDICATION TO OUR COUNTRY AND FOR THE IDEAS AND MORALS HE REPRESENTED.

I remember when Audie died. He was a part owner of a store in Ft. Collins. I believe it was called "The Half and Half" or something like that. I grew up watching his movies and knowing he was a war hero. He passed far to young.

My son is hiking the AT. This was on his list of things he wanted to see. He just sent me photos of the memorial. I did a bit of research on Audie, wow, what an amazing man! Not an easy memorial to get to but, beautiful... So many young AT hikers out there seeing the beauty America has to offer. How nice the have a place to sit rest their tired bones and pay respects to a true American hero. Hikers have left rocks... at the site. Thanks to all of Americas Veterans and the many men and woman who continue to serve.

Thank you for erecting this site to tell the world of one of the most outstanding individuals the good lord placed among our midst. I want my children.s children to know who he was and what he did, and what he overcame in his life.
