My son is hiking the AT. This was on his list of things he wanted to see. He just sent me photos of the memorial. I did a bit of research on Audie, wow, what an amazing man! Not an easy memorial to get to but, beautiful... So many young AT hikers out there seeing the beauty America has to offer. How nice the have a place to sit rest their tired bones and pay respects to a true American hero. Hikers have left rocks... at the site. Thanks to all of Americas Veterans and the many men and woman who continue to serve.

Thank you for erecting this site to tell the world of one of the most outstanding individuals the good lord placed among our midst. I want my children.s children to know who he was and what he did, and what he overcame in his life.

Wow! What a soldier. An inspiration across the oceans to all soldiers. A combat leader in every sense of the word.

I was born June 18, 196X in the Philippines. I was named after Audie Murphy. My mother had a huge crush on him after watching his war movie.

My wife grew up watching military movies with her Navy Dad as did I with mine. One of our favorites that we never tire watching is "To Hell & Back".

My family and I loved Audie Murphy and never miss watching his movies. Encore (through Cox Cable) plays his movies occasionally and so does Turner Classic movies. Please know that we have fewer and fewer men to look up to in this day and time and this man should be a beacon to our young. There are few men in today's time that would hold a candle to Audie Murphy.
