Loved this young man when I was a youngster...just knew what a kind soul he was.I did not know about all of the medals...just felt that he was the kind of American I wanted to be. May his soul be dancing in a very happy place and may he know how grateful we all are.

First heard of Audie Murphy when I was in college and took a course on WWII. Was impressed enough on what I heard about this young man and his desire to serve his country that I tracked down his autobiography and was even more impressed. Of course since then I've seen many of Audie's movies and loved them all but the best was when he protrayed himself reliving his experiences in Italy during the war.
We need more role models like Audie esecially during these difficult times in our country.
If you haven't visited his gravesite in Arlington Cemetery I would highly recmmend that you do on your next visit to the DC area.

I have been at this website several times.I think of Audie. My Uncle was Killed in Korea. I think of him.
War is hell. I wish I didn't have to see it. I think of all the men coming home with PTSD and with TBI's and hurts so much. I know that the U.S. didn't know much about these two disorders when Audie returned to the U.S. but, I pray in the future we will. To all who read this if you are having problems please get some help. Please call suicide prevention. Call your local TBI. Please get some help. You are very important to US.

My husband and I have been a fan of Audie Murphy since we first heard of him as children. We still watch his movies and have great respect for him as a soldier and actor. We will be in Greenville, TX, on May 31 and June 1 for our grandson's graduation and while there, we plan to go to the museum. We were pleased to see that it is quite near our hotel.

Remembering the greatest soldier. Saw To Hell and Back for the umpteenth time on Sunday and remembering his death on May 28. I've been a fan for years. On my list of the five people you would like to meet in heaven, Audie is one of them. I joined the Air Force for 12 years back in the 70s-80s, mainly because of wanting to serve my country like Audie did. Still miss him.
