I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED AUDIE MURPHY. HE ALWAYS STOOD FOR GOOD IN HIS MOVIES AS WELL AS HIS LIFE. WE WERE FORTUNATE TO HAVE A PERSON LIKE HIM IN THE USA. WE SHOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR HIS DEDICATION TO OUR COUNTRY AND FOR THE IDEAS AND MORALS HE REPRESENTED. Added: July 2, 2012

I remember when Audie died. He was a part owner of a store in Ft. Collins. I believe it was called "The Half and Half" or something like that. I grew up watching his movies and knowing he was a war hero. He passed far to young. Added: July 1, 2012

My son is hiking the AT. This was on his list of things he wanted to see. He just sent me photos of the memorial. I did a bit of research on Audie, wow, what an amazing man! Not an easy memorial to get to but, beautiful... So many young AT hikers out there seeing the beauty America has to offer. How nice the have a place to sit rest their tired bones and pay respects to a true American hero. Hikers have left rocks... at the site. Thanks to all of Americas Veterans and the many men and woman who continue to serve. Added: June 29, 2012

My father was a M/S E-7 and was in the same outfit as Audie, They were both sargants at the same time. I couldn't believe it till we were watching one of his movies. My father said that he was a great soldier.My father passed away 6yrs ago.I have passed this on to my children,something they can remember about their grampa.Iam a veteran of VM war, my son of Desert Shield, and my daughter is in the USN career.
