Great website for a great man! I was born in 1946 to a combat Marine (4th Marines) and my dad thought Audie Murphy was the greatest hero to come out of the war even though he was Army. My dad was no slouch as he fought on Roi-Namur, Saipan, Tinian and was wounded on Iwo Jima.

My dad was in WWII. He received 5 bronze medals. He was involved in the Normady invasion. Unfortunately he gave those medals to me when I was a kid and I lost them. These guys and gals have made our lives what they are now. I am ashamed that I did not recognize their heroics sooner in my life!

To know that Audie was a heroic soldier, then to be a great actor in western movies. He was and still is my favorite in westerns :)

Audie Murphy is such an inspiration to me. Pure 100% good American who fought for his country and tried to take care of his family.

Watched his bio on A&E, also watched his movie To Hell & Back - what an amazing man, its such a shame, the way he died. He makes me proud to be an Army vet and an American. :)
