I have went to every Audie Murphy movie that was shown in our little town. Then I learned what a hero he was. He should never be forgotten either as a hero or a actor. His films are shown less and less on TV. Even TCM is a disappointment. Hope they will show more of his movies in the future. Added: June 2, 2013

I had the pleasure of learning from the movie "To Hell and Back", about Audie Murphy's valour and service to his country and liberation of Europe and was really touched by his dedication and unselfishness. He just came to mind as I was watching the movie Saving Private Ryan. so I decided to check the web for information about Audie Murphy. It would have been a shame if he was forgotten, so am very happy to find this piece dedicated to his life and memory and am hoping that his life story is included in American School history curriculum so that the younger generation can learn about this very special man. Thank you for keeping his memory alive! Added: June 1, 2013 Powered by PHP Guestbook - brought to you by PHP Scripts

I can remember being told the story of Audie Murphy all my life. My mother was born and lived during her childhood in Farmersville, TX. She had five brothers in WWII, three which made a career of it, and one, Matthew Monk, who was in the Bataan Death March. Every time we had a family gathering, WWII was refought and Audie Murphy's name always came up. He was very well thought of and a true hero. One of his movies was recently on TV and I told his story to my youngest grandchildren. They were in awe! I hope he will never be forgotten. I know I won't.
