I shall forever be a fan of Audie Murphy, watching his films, which I saw as a young women before knowing his war history captured my imagination as to his gentleness as well as his strength of character. No-one to me captured a person true to himself. Long may they continue to show the American western films he starred in on British TV. Added: July 8, 2014

As a fellow US Infantryman and Infantry Officer, I have admired MAJ Murphy's military and personal accomplishments. I empathize with his struggle against PTSD. I am a multi-war vet, entering the Army as a Private during Vietnam and retiring as a Colonel in 2011. I have visited his grave in Arlington many times. As long as I am alive, Audie Murphy will not be forgotten. Added: July 8, 2014

Ever since I saw "To Hell and Back" (which I have seen hundreds of times and make sure my kids and grandchildren see it at least once) I have been a fan of this man among men. I know I have seen every movie he made as they came out and now that I am in my 70"s and have had at least 20 family members, men and women in service from WWII, Korea, Cold, Cuban Crisis (me) Vietnam (me) and 1st. Gulf War, 2nd. Gulf, Afghanistan to present, I have gained a very special appreciation for the Man that Audie was and what he became and what I am sure he would have only been such a positive force in a country that sorely needs a man such as Audie.
