I met Audie Murphy when he was a guest at the Hilton Hotel in Lubbock, Texas where my mother worked. This was in the early 50's. I cant remember the exact year but i think it was 1956. I had seen a lot of his movies, especially (To Hell and Back). He has always been my hero. I visited his grave site in Arlington National Cemetery a few years ago to pay my respects. I was 13 when I met him, I'm now 71 and he is still my hero.

I have watched Audie's movies since I was a little girl. ''He is indeed an American Hero, not because of only what he did, but because of what he stood for as an ''American'' and a soldier. ''He's like every girls big brother.''And every woman's protector. ''May God keep blessing us with men like Audie. ''Peace and Love.

Audie Murphy was a true American Hero. As a boomer growing up in the post WWII era, all of my friends knew of and greatly respected his combat achievements and military awards. He served our country with distinction. Audie belonged to the greatest generation and was a true inspiration to my generation.

I used to watch Audie in movies as a child in France. Only later did I learn about his role in WW2. A true hero. I never forgot this side of him though! :!sun:

I enjoyed his movies but being a history buff, I enjoyed visiting his museum in Greenville more than a person could believe. I left there crying, ever time I went there. I read ever letter that was in the cases, most more than once.

There is not enough accolades you can place on this man. I would love to see another movie about this mans life. I have no particular person I would want to play him but I would want it to be a person of class. Not an idiot like Sean Penn.
There really should be a medal just for him! Medal of Honor is just a little short of what he really deserved
