I have been a fan of Audie Murphy since I was 12 and my parents took me to see Tumbleweed. When I heard he was going to be the Grand Marshal at the Sheriffs' Rodeo in LA, I just had to go. My mother drove me to one of the sheriff stations to get tickets. While the deputy was arranging tickets with my mother I pulled a picture of Audie from my purse and told him how much I loved him. Well, the deputy pulled out his wallet and gave us box seat tickets. I was so excited. I had a front row seat. When Audie rode past, he stopped right in front of me. Well, I was standing to take a picture but I was so shaken I didn't get a photo. As he moved down the path, my brother yelled that his sister wanted to take his picture and he turned and posed. I was still so shaken I just got the side of his head. The rodeo was just a blur for me after that. That night I wrote him a long letter about my experience. I received an autographed photo later in the mail. I was so devastated when I heard of his crash and death. I even went to the service that was held at Forest Lawn. I was one of the last to get into the chapel. I will always be a fan and always love Audie Murphy. Added: August 13, 2014

The very first I think crush or childhood star crush was audie Murphy. Even as a little girl I loved him and watched every movie. I have read a great deal on his life and all the good he tried to do. I also think that when he was at war he truely believed in helping his fellow man than himself. He wanted to do what was needed not once thinking what could happen to him, and that made him a true hero . I believe in my heart he was a very kind, and gentle person that cared deeply for others. I just wanted to say how much I really admire the man and as an actor . I know hes in Heaven and hes wearing his angel wings!!! God bless his family Added: August 7, 2014
