As a child I loved Audie Murphy's films and he became my favourite actor. This was before I knew he was a war hero. I was very upset when he died so tragically.

I have always known of Audie Murphy from his films. I watched the film To hell and back for the first time yesterday and was astonished at Audie's bravery and how it is not known on a more wider basis. Hence my post here after a search on the internet. What a great site, full of wonderful information. Thank you.

As a teenager I adored Audie Murphy, his photos filled my bedroom and I went to see all of his films. I did vaguely know he was the most decorated American war hero. Just recently I read his book To Hell and Back and have again become one of his greatest fans but this time a wiser admirer, gaining an enormous respect for him, his courage and fortitude. I am so grateful you have put this site together and look forward to learning more about this amazing, humble, caring man who just got on and done what needed to be done, and whom sadly the world lost sight of for a while in the middle of their protests against war and its perpetrators (and they are not the service people sent to face the enemy). I look forward to learning more. He is one of Gods honourable sons.
