I was having memories of my late uncle, who pinned Audie's lieutenant bars on him. My uncle is the late Brig Gen Hallett D Edson. I was, and still am very proud of him. I have a photo of him standing with Audie. If you have any photos with Audie and Brig Gen Edson you might share, I would love it. There's a restaurant up in York, PA that shares a wall for military photos. I have a copy of the two of them. God bless you all

I haven't forgotten Audie Murphy. I recall having watched on television in the 1970s some of the films in which Mr. Murphy starred, and my late father having explained to me about Mr. Murphy's heroism in World War II. I have since that time read what an exemplary life Mr. Murphy led, including his advocacy on behalf of fellow veterans for research into what has become known as "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder," from which Mr. Murphy himself suffered.

A recent Audie Murphy film festival on Katz Broadcasting's Grit TV reminded me of what a personable and talented person Audie Murphy was, and how he, like many other actors of a previous era (including some more famous in their times), have been forgotten and need to be reintroduced to younger generations.

Audie Murphy is certainly long overdue to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He was a brave man, and a genuine hero and patriot of the United States of America. I hope Mr. Murphy's children and some grandchildren will be able to accept the award on his behalf, if and when it is granted by the president of the United States.

When I'm down at our Volunteer Fire Department we turn the TV to a channel called GRIT TV. We watch his movies and many others and really enjoy them. He is a great actor.

Being a Vietnam veteran, I can truly admire what he has done for his service with the U.S. Army, he surely had an angel beside him doing his military campaigns.
