I am a distant relative via in laws, and very patriotic, so very much appreciate our military. Lucky to be close enough to visit Audie's grave, and the plane crash site. :!cry:

When I was a teenager growing up Audie was my idol. I went to every movie he was in and stood in awe of his military service. To be in love with a star, knowing you will never meet him, I think shows the type of adult you will turn out to be. I am a dedicated mother of 5, a grandmother of 12 and a great grandmother of 1. I have tried to use valued morals and conviction in my life and will never forget his bravery, his love of country, and his sacrifices he made for his country. He was a true hero, star, and a person anyone could look up to with pride.

My husband and I were wee when Audie Murphy passed away, but we are big fans of his. In today's backward society, we really need heroes like Mr. Murphy. To think that people on reality shows are considered stars while people like Mr. Murphy fought for our freedom and is not even known by most kids today is…well, it's just disgusting and a very sad commentary on our society. I thank God for Mr. Murphy for his bravery in our country's defense as well as his his movies that have given us much enjoyment.
