It is a shame that America has not given Mr. Murphy the recognition he so much deserves. As I have researched information on the naval battles that my father experienced in WWII, including Pearl Harbor, I am even more disappointed with the lack of honor given to our heroes. Currently, so much attention is given The American Sniper, Chris Kyle that I feel that Audie Murphy should be honored with the Medal of Honor.

My father and uncle were both in WWII. Charles Anderson was a POW in a German Prison Camp. He was caught at the Battle of the Bulge. My father was Navy and I'm retired USAF.

Just want to keep our hero's alive and Audie Murphy was a true hero.

I have seen many of Audie's movies but the way I really remember him is for his life of honesty & bravery! If ever there should be a day named after him it should be now !!!! He is the bravest of the brave & is now in heaven where he should be. Had he lived, he would have made a great President of the United States, NONE more deserving !!!!!!!!!!!!

When I was a teenager growing up Audie was my idol. I went to every movie he was in and stood in awe of his military service. To be in love with a star, knowing you will never meet him, I think shows the type of adult you will turn out to be. I am a dedicated mother of 5, a grandmother of 12 and a great grandmother of 1. I have tried to use valued morals and conviction in my life and will never forget his bravery, his love of country, and his sacrifices he made for his country. He was a true hero, star, and a person anyone could look up to with pride.
