May we never forget the sacrifice of Audie Murphy and the rest of his generation, without whom the world would not be free. God bless them all and God bless America.

A TRUE HERO AND FINE ACTOR AND MAN , SO SAD THAT OUR COUNTRY AND OUR LEADERS HAVE SEEM TO FORGOTEN , HIS DEEDS DURING THE WAR, ALL THAT HE DID WITHOUT GIVING A THOUGH OF THE DANGER TO HIMSELF BUT THINKING OF HIS FELLA SOLDER AND COUNTRY. I THINK THAT THIS COUNTRY SHOULD GIVE OR DO SOMETHING IN HIS HONOR EACH YEAR. IT SADENS ME THAT TOO MANY PEOPLE DONT EVEN KNOW WHO HE WAS OR WHAT HE DID AS A SOLDIER. A SIMPLE MAN YET A TRUE AMERICAN HERO IN REAL LIFE AND A FINE ACTOR ALSO AFTER THE WAR. AND I HAVE READ BOOKS ABOUT HIS LIFE AFTER WAR ,HE WHENT THRU SOME HELL TIMES, YET HE DID THE BEST HE COULD I THINK. HE WAS BUT A MAN, BUT ONE THAT SHOULD STAND OUT ABOVE OTHERS FOR THE DEEDS THAT HE DID AND GIVING ALL HE GAVE .GOD BLESS HIS FAMLEY

What can one say that has not already been said about Audie Murphy, I cannot say anything profound, but what I do at is, he was a truly remarkable soldier and a damn fine actor. As a kid, I think I saw just about all of his movies.

He did what he believe needed to be done. I wish we had done more for him to help him fight his diamonds.

My second most favorite actor of all time, 1st John Wayne. His heroism should never be forgotten. I will always remember Audie Murphy and thank god for placing him here on earth to help stomp out evil.
I myself am a disabled veteran and proud to say I was a part of the U.S. Army. Audie will always be one of my favorite hero's ever to have lived.

Audie Murphy has been a huge inspiration to me ever since I first saw "To Hell and Back" as a young boy. I'm now a retired Texas HS football coach, and every year that I coached, I would tell the story of Audie Murphy to my team and encourage them to watch the movie and to study his life. I could never stop tears from welling up in my eyes as I recounted his story.

I'm now working with my son (who is a criminal defense attorney in the DFW metroplex). Whenever we work at the Collin County courthouse, there are numerous large paintings of Mr. Murphy everywhere and pamphlets telling his story. I'm proud that he is a fellow Texan and his life and courage will always be something that I aspire to emulate in some small way. God Bless Audie Murphy.
