My wife and I ate at his old home place on our first date at Dovie's. We grew up there. Grew up on his movies and always wanted to be like him. Reserved and kind. We have raised 6 kids and and still remember his place and reputation fondly.

I watched his movies as a child. I read his book. He was and always will be a hero, though I think he was very uncomfortable being called that. The world was a better place with Audie Murphy in it. He will never be forgotten.

I have watched more then a few times.

My life started out in a poor family and I worked as a kid on small farms from 13 years old.

As a young boy growing up during WWII, I idolized Audie after seeing him in the story of his wartime experiences in " To Hell and back". He was every young boys hero !!!
