I am probably Audie Murphy's number one fan. I have loved watching his movies for about 50 years now and when he died I cried like he was part of my family. I only regret that I never got to meet him in person. He is and will be my favorite actor till the day I die.

I do hope he is someday soon on the History Channel Show "American Bad-Asses" if he has not already, nobody more bad-* * * in our history. His life goes to show that dynamite comes in small packages.

Thank You Sir, for Your Service.
Amen, and Rest In Peace.

Audie recreates the original spirit of the 3ID, July 15, 1918 at the junction of the Marne and Surmelin Rivers: the Rock of the Marne. Few will know, fewer will understand how much so few have given to so many, to paraphrase Winston Churchill.
Can anyone estimate the 4th, the 7th, the 30th, the 38th Regiment's contributions to the 20th Century: the American Century.
Can anyone estimate the artistic innocence of his Red Badge of Courage performance?
Ulysses Grant McAlexander smiles down, remembers, and knows...

I have always been a fan of Audie Murphy. I remember my Mom taking me to the neighborhood theater to watch "To Hell and Back". She knew my father a fellow Texas veteran, who was in the D-Day invasion and a POW would not go. Too many memories. I remember reading about Audie's death while in college. It saddened me alot and still does. God Bless you and this site.
