I had the honor of marching in review in front of Captain Audie Murphy , in 1954 , in Ft. Benning ,Ga., when we ,the 47th infantry div. with the upsidedown jockstrap patch, from camp Rucker, Ala., became the blue and white patched 3rd infantry division.......Needless to say , it was one of the proudest moments of my life ....Frank

Audey Murphy was one of the most charismatic people in my life time. I am 73 years of age and have
followed any tidbits of information I could find on him
for as long as I can remember.
He was not only a hero for our great country, he was also an intersting man and actor.

The North Texas Chapter of the Association of the Army has changed its name to "North Texas - Audie Murphy Chapter." Our Chapter used to meet in Dovie's, Audie's old house, until it was closed.

I just watched the DVD "To Hell and Back." Got a little
misty-eyed for a second at the passing of Sgt. Murphy's mom. Had some laughs, especially when on the ship overseas, and the other guy blew cigar smoke in his face. But, throughout the entire DVD, I always had in the back of my mind that, when the cameras stopped rolling, the "dead men" probably got up and had a couple of beers. In real life...they don't.

I am probably Audie Murphy's number one fan. I have loved watching his movies for about 50 years now and when he died I cried like he was part of my family. I only regret that I never got to meet him in person. He is and will be my favorite actor till the day I die.

I do hope he is someday soon on the History Channel Show "American Bad-Asses" if he has not already, nobody more bad-* * * in our history. His life goes to show that dynamite comes in small packages.

Thank You Sir, for Your Service.
Amen, and Rest In Peace.
