Been a fan of Audie Murphy for many years and always watch his films. Especially impressed by his war record though which I believe to be more important than film star status even though him being in films has allowed me to see more of him.

It is a sad time when you don't hear the name of the most decorated soldier of World War II mentioned on Memorial Day by the news media or the Commander in Chief. I am honored to be able to speak his name.

I watched his movies as a child growing up. They would be on after school. I learned about his military service after seeing the movie based on his book. You would be happy to know a question about this was in Trivial Pursuit. I won the game becuse I knew the answer to the question about it. I have worked with the wife of his nephew and she was proud to display his picture with other photos of other veterans. I was glad to see the web site and I looked it up after reading his book. The book is still in print and can be found at Barns & Noble.

Audie L Murphy. I had a very similar childhood to Audie and could relate to the hardships in early life. I enjoyed his book 'To Hell and Back' and the movie, infact I enjoyed all his movies. He portrait hangs in my small office at home taking pride of place along with other family Military items.
Audie was my hero.
