Comment:
In the early to mid 1950s Audie was acquainted with gun dealer Hy Hunter and appeared on the back of American Weapons Co. catalogues, presumably as an endorsement for Great Western Arms Co. who made the Colt SA look alike revolvers. Does anyone have knowledge of this association or better yet any related correspondence regarding Audie's gun collecting activities.

It's hard to explain why men like Audie do the things that are above and beyond the call of duty. Thank God they are there when needed. I have twenty five years in the army. I saw combat 1968 to 1969 Vietnam. I was assigned to the 2nd Bn. 138th field artillery. They were hit hard by the enemy on tomahawk fire base. They fought hard, never gave ground to the viet-cong and continued to supply artillery support for the 101 airborne troops.
They ranked with the best fighters I ever saw in Viet-nam.

I'm just a big fan of Audie Murphy and his movies from years past. And as a veteran myself, I honor Audie Murphy for his service and sacrifice for this nation. He was a true American hero. Wished we had more people like him in the world.

I will locate and pay this area a visit and upon observation will drop the THC in Austin a letter to recommend for preservation and restoration of the ole homestead as well as a state historical site. somewhere on the web it states that more and more people are watching his "B" movies on TV.
