With a father that served alongside US troops in New Guinea and someone that appreciates the sacrifices made in the defence of my homeland (Australia), I thank you for this site dedicated to a man that both my father and I admired.

Audie Murphy was a great American hero. He was a good role model for the youth growing up at that time and if they new about him now they could learn a few lessons from him. He was a wonderful son and brother, looking after his family. He was well respected because he was always respectful to others, a lesson we should all practice.

Growing up, our father had talked about Audie Murphy quite a bit. Being a Marine himself and after fighting in the South Pacific, dad knew who was a true hero. My sister and I love watching his films, such a great actor...it would have been a sincere honor to have met him. I am so glad this foundation was formed to commemorate Mr.Murphy as a hero, actor, man, an all around great human being.

It is a shame that people today fail to remember those who have given so much allowing them the freedom that we enjoy so much today.

I served eight years in the U.S. Army both as a Miliary Policeman and a Chaplain Assistant (I got out and went back in within a two year period).

I really liked Mr. Murphy and his Service to this Country and his continuing service with the Veterans Administration!

RIP Sir!
